Virtual Firm

What is a virtual law firm?

In an article in 2006, the Law Society's Gazette said "Generally, virtual firms involve a group of lawyers working from home offices to an agreed set of company policies, using a case management and/or practice management system over the Internet, with secure connections".  But there is plenty of room for variation on this theme.

Why work in a virtual firm?

There are lots of possible reasons for working in a virtual law firm - such as:

  • To avoid commuting
  • To choose the hours of work that suit you best
  • To work more effectively and efficiently
  • To develop your practice in a low cost environment
  • To start self-employment without significant commitments
  • To be ready for changes to the legal landscape
  • To share resources
  • To work with like-minded individuals

What we offer

We are a carefully developed and well managed virtual law firm which includes:

  • A web-based Practice Management System with hosted email & fax and document scanning which enable solicitors to work from any convenient location with internet access
  • Client database, standard letters, key dates, time recording, accounts and reporting information
  • Intranets (administration and subject specific)
  • Compliance and money laundering systems
  • Land Registry Direct and other on-line services
  • Policies and procedures
  • An interactive website including case tracking, on-line payment systems and on-line legal audits
  • Accounts, bookkeeping and practice administration
  • Training and support
  • Cover for holiday and absences
  • Marketing and advertising
  • Client care and case management
  • Insurance

Who we are looking for

We are looking to develop and expand our successful firm and should be pleased to talk to:

  • Solicitors with an established client following
  • Small firms wishing to operate as a virtual firm

and in either case, solicitors with strong legal skills and reputations, who are IT literate and who would be happy working in a virtual law firm.

If you would like to discuss joining an exciting virtual firm, please telephone Michael Pope on 01303 298392 or email mpope@lawbridgesolicitors.com
